OUR STORY

Why we love what we do

Dear Fellow Collector,

First of all, thanks for checking out our website!

I have been an avid collector since I was 12. My first comic I ever read was Fantastic Four #79. I remember reading issues #81 through #83 back in 1969. But there was one book I was missing! I had to find that issue so I can read the entire story-line. Right after that, I was fortunate enough that someone gave me Amazing Spider-Man #32 and #33. Those stories were AWESOME and AMAZING! When I read those issues, I thought to myself, "How can Spider-Man pick up the such heavy machinery(#33 Cover)?" That's when my older brother told me that Spider-Man had been bitten by a radioactive spider and gained super-human powers and nothing could stop him. Stan Lee's greatest superhero opened my eyes to the world of comics and led me to a life of collecting. I also began selling books so I can collect more when I was just 13! My Dad wasn't thrilled about the idea of selling books as he thought I wasn't making money and that I had to do real labor for real money. His mind quickly changed when buyers would send checks in the mail, resulting in a few hundred dollars in one day (this was back in 1970). You can find my ads in the old RBCC's (Rocket's Blast/Comic Collector) I sold comics back in the day where honesty was the governing rule of selling, and everything was sold 'GD to MINT'. People sent checks in faith that in return you would ship the items out. Now in today's world, there are scumbags that ruin the hearts of many collectors to pull a fast one and make quick money. I still uphold the "old school" selling qualities. I always want to make you a happy customer. I never want to cheat anyone. We disclose any noticeable restoration and defects, to give you better knowledge to buy. Have faith and buy.

Hey Everyone!
Just a little tidbit about me...

I was not at all interested in comics let alone how to tell what issue number the comic book was. I didn't watch the first real Marvel Movie (Ironman) when it came out in theaters. I never knew they still sold comic books...... EEK!

Then I met Rick. I didn't want to be the girlfriend (now the wifey) that wants to have nothing to do with comics. I learned how to organize the books by issues numbers, that was easy. It took a few months to learn which one were keys, who was the Superhero, who was the villian, and what characters started from the golden age. I then began to identify who drew what cover by identifying art styles, that was tough! I have come a long way since then. I can look at a comic and pick out any defects or restoration which allows me to grade books. For those who know me, they describe me as having a "professional eye" for grading and restoration.
My favorite characters are Hulk, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman. Besides having our personal collection together than spans Golden to Modern, I am currently working on completing my Golden Age Wonder Woman Collection.
